Our Story

2005

eScribers was founded in New York City by court reporting professionals who saw an opportunity to dramatically improve the existing process in which courts and government agencies service their citizens in the courtroom.

2007

eScribers launched TABula®, the company's proprietary workflow system. The system allowed courtroom administrators to connect to the data driving the success of their services and allowed transcribers to connect to eScribers from all across the United States.

2011

eScribers opens offices in New York and Virginia.

2015

eScribers acquired Phoenix-based competitor AVTranz and opened an office in Phoenix.

January 2020

eScribers partners with Susquehanna International Group through Nili Capital Partners to improve its existing service offerings and extend its services geographically. 

April 2020

eScribers responds to the outbreak of COVID-19 by launching a telephonic conferencing system, enabling its customers to continue offering remote hearings and court proceedings.

August 2020

eScribers acquires Baltimore-based Hunt Reporting Co.


September 2020

eScribers acquires London-based Auscript UK, opening its first office outside of the United States.


February 2021

eScribers acquires Maryland-based Deposition Services Inc., expanding its presence in Virginia and Maryland. 

July 2021

eScribers launches its remote video conferencing platform, enabling courtrooms to adapt to a fully remote post-COVID ecosystem while continuing to offer exceptional accessibility.

Our Leadership

Aryeh Bak

Aryeh is the CEO of eScribers and has been with the company for more than ten years. Aryeh graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Yeshiva University in 1996. He obtained a Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in 2002 and achieved his CET**D certification from the American Association of Electronic Reporters & Transcribers (AAERT) in 2010.  He also chairs the AAERT board-level Advocacy Committee and has served on the AAERT’s Government Relations Committee for the last five years. Aryeh dreams of seeing one of his daughters winning the World Series of Poker Main Event one day.

John joined eScribers in 2022 as the Chief Operating Officer but started his career in legal in 1993, transitioning to leadership in 1999. After six years in marketplace leadership, John moved into Global Accounts, where he created contractual relationships with 5 of the Fortune 25, as well as numerous AMLaw 250 law firms and a large nonprofit healthcare organization on the West Coast. In 2009 John moved back into regional leadership and in 2014 was promoted into a national leadership role. Since 2016 John was a President at Trustpoint.One leading Discovery Services and Marketing. In addition, as a small business entrepreneur, he was a majority stakeholder in a Colorado restaurant from 2007 to 2012.

David is a seasoned software executive with over 20 years of experience managing R&D departments in successful startups and global corporations. During his career, David oversaw software engineering, DevOps, QA, Customer Success and IT teams, and was responsible for all technical decisions made by the company. David is a former VP R&D of Inneractive, which was sold to Fyber in 2016, and a co-founder/CTO of a cyber-security startup Blaick.

Bret earned a MBA from the University of Texas, Dallas and BBA from University of Texas, Austin. He is a licensed CPA with 29 years of Global financial management experience in Asia, Africa, North and South America. His roles have ranged from Senior Management Consultant to Financial Controller, providing extensive experience in auditing, Due Diligence, Reporting, compliance, and major project management. Additionally, Bret launched a startup business in Mozambique. Bret joined eScribers in July 2021.

Mark brings with him over 25 years of legal support experience. Prior to joining eScribers Mark was leading the UK and Ireland court reporting and transcription business for Epiq where customer focus and technology was his key passion. On a personal note, Mark is based in London and in his free time he enjoys travelling and fishing as a way to relax.

Yael joined eScribers in 2020 as the global Head of HR. Yael brings with her over 15 years of experience in human resources and has held various HR roles including the director of HR at SAP and prior to that the Talent Development Manager at EMC. Yael earned a B.A. in Psychology from Bar Ilan University and an MSc. in Organizational Behavior, HR Management & Industrial Relations from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.

Rachel Weiser

Rachel joined eScribers as VP Business Development in 2020. Prior to joining eScribers, Rachel practiced as an attorney and later served on the counsel of civil-rights organization, Shurat Hadin. Having worked on a wide array of civil litigation including but not limited to business litigation, Rachel brings with her an extensive knowledge of the legal market. Rachel earned her JD at Case Western Reserve.

Daniel joined eScribers as CTO in 2005. Daniel's IT experience dates back nearly 30 years to the early days of the Internet. Daniel earned a BSc in Computation and Electrical Engineering and Electronics in 1989 from The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST, UK). He also has a degree in Pharmacy from Aston University and worked for several years running a retail pharmacy chain. Daniel is married with 4 children, a dog, and two cats. During his university career, Daniel could often be found DJing in the student's union, including running a weekly "70s Night".

Yifat joined eScribers as Chief of Staff in early 2021, however Yifat worked closely with the eScribers management team even before so as the Susquehanna Private Capital (Nili Capital) analyst to lead the eScribers diligence process. Yifat earned her B.A. in Business and Economics the IDC Herzliya University. Yifat lives with her husband and dog in Tel Aviv and plays beach and indoor volleyball in her free time.
